THE HONEY BADGER STRIKES AGAIN

TYRANN MATHIEU!!!!! Just a Sophomore at LSU, and he already has the school record for forced fumbles, plus last week vs 3rd ranked Arkansas he forced 3 turnovers himself! Each of the past 2 weeks he has returned a punt for a touchdown, and almost another in the SEC title game vs Georgia.....Tyrann was invited toNew York as one of the five Heisman Trophy finalists.....This is extremely exciting since I thought myself, and Kirk Herbstreit were the only people in the country who noticed how good he really is....My Heisman vote would go to Mathieu, but RGIII is a close 2nd (Robert Griffen the 3rd)....sadly most of the Heisman voters decided who they were going to vote for before the season even started, and Andrew Luck has NOT impressed me much at all, he would get #5 on my ballot.....Trent Richardson will probably get it but I would love to see Griffen or The Honey Badger get it.

Alabama-LSU

Who wants to see Alabama lose to LSU AGAIN???? Apparently the clearly bias BCS (BULL CRAP SYSTEM) because Bama had their chance & lost the most boring game ever. LSU would have probably beaten OK. State, but at least they haven't played each other this year

Miami Marlins

I guess the knew cool thing to do in Miami is form a "dream team" for pro sports........problem with getting Heath Bell,Jose Reyes, and MAYBE king albert is that they are still a .500 ball club @ best so why even try it??? Oh well, I guess they will just be laughed at like the heat & eagles

Joe Pa

All my life all I have known is Penn State= Joe Pa...... Actually all my dad's life as well. I don't care what college is your favorite, you have to love the 84 year old coach. Today he said he will be stepping down at the end of the season. While I can't say for sure he didn't have anything to do with the scandals going on, I want to believe (like everybody else) that he didn't. He broke the 400 win mark last year ( ALL @ PENN STATE!!!!), and gained the most wins of any level of college football this year. I woke up this morning to see all of the students rallying across State College,PA whether it be at Paterno's house or at the college....it just shows how much people STILL love god old Joe Pa. While I doubt he does that much actual coaching anymore, and is there just for a HUGE recruiting advantage, happy valley just won't be the same next year with out him

TLR (Tony La Russa)

As a life long Cardinal fan I will be the first to admit I have hated Tony La Russa more than a handful of times. The facts are the facts though, he led us to 3 world series appearances and won 2 of them. A manager that defined the laws of baseball by batting the pitcher 8th in the line-up and using 6 bull pen pitchers to each get just one out. He is arguably the greatest of all time and had he come back next year he would have had the 2nd most wins all time  (he has a better win percentage than the 1st & 2nd all time). While it is difficult to see that the only manager they have had since 1996, and the only one I remember watching walk away from the game. He is going out on top as a world series champion yet again for the 3rd time in his 33 years as a manager. So who do the cardinals hire for next year? Dave Duncan (La Russa's right hand man/ pitching coach), Terry Francona (managed the red sox when they beat the cards in the world series in 2004), or even Ozzie Smith (a great cardinal short stop that said he would like to manage after tony). Leave no doubt this team is returning a HUGE amount of talent, and hopefully keep Albert Pujols, and will be back in the world series next year.

WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS

WOW!!!!! back from the dead...10 1/2 games out on August 25th...3 games out with just 5 games to play.....had to win on the final regular season day just to make the playoffs...an instant classic in game 5 of the NLDS to beat the phillies after being down 2 games to 1....took out the brewers but without many dramatics in 6 games....what looked so promising to close the world series out in 5 or 6 games then turned into disaster with a blown save and an ugly 4-2 loss...THEN CAME THE HEROICS....david freese bottom of the 9th down by 2 runs and 2 strikes on him & he hits a shot off the right field wall to score 2 & send it to extra innings....the season then looked over again for these cardiac cards after josh hamilton hit a 2 run bomb to make it 9-7 rangers...NOT SO FAST!!!....down to their final strike and lance berkman hits a bloop single to score daniel descalso and tie it at 9....after a scoreless inning for the rangers in the 11th the home town hero david freese stepped to the plate...full count no out, nobody on and he walks off to send it to a game 7....after being down 2-0 in the 1st inning these resiliant cards came back to tie it at 2-2 in the bottom half of the 1st on a david freese 2 run double....the st. louis cardinals never looked back, allen craig hit a solo homer to make it 3-2, then the cardinals scored 2 runs on 3 walks and 2 hit batters in an inning to make it 5-2....yadi then sealed it with a single that made it 6-2 and jason motte got the rangers 1-2-3 in the 9th.....a historic run and a season i will never forget

Cinderella in the WORLD SERIES

I attended a banquet on August 24th in st. louis with my family as we do every year, and  the team we love (St. Louis Cardinals) were 10 1/2 games out of the playoffs. as i was listening to john mozeliak talk, i thought he was the biggest idiot ever for some of the trades he made, and i think he knew everybody felt the same because he concluded by saying how sorry he was for the season. Waino (adam wainwright) who is arguably the cardinals best pitcher had season ending surgery before spring training promised that the cardinals wouldn't stop fighting. the cards ended the season in fairy tail fashion by making the playoffs by going 23-9 in the final month of the season. now the world series starts tomorrow, and guess who is in it? yes that's right those same cards that promised they wouldn't stop fighting. this is too good to be true, but it is and the cards also have home field advantage in the world series.....CARDINALS IN 6!!!!
