TLR (Tony La Russa)

As a life long Cardinal fan I will be the first to admit I have hated Tony La Russa more than a handful of times. The facts are the facts though, he led us to 3 world series appearances and won 2 of them. A manager that defined the laws of baseball by batting the pitcher 8th in the line-up and using 6 bull pen pitchers to each get just one out. He is arguably the greatest of all time and had he come back next year he would have had the 2nd most wins all time  (he has a better win percentage than the 1st & 2nd all time). While it is difficult to see that the only manager they have had since 1996, and the only one I remember watching walk away from the game. He is going out on top as a world series champion yet again for the 3rd time in his 33 years as a manager. So who do the cardinals hire for next year? Dave Duncan (La Russa's right hand man/ pitching coach), Terry Francona (managed the red sox when they beat the cards in the world series in 2004), or even Ozzie Smith (a great cardinal short stop that said he would like to manage after tony). Leave no doubt this team is returning a HUGE amount of talent, and hopefully keep Albert Pujols, and will be back in the world series next year.

WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS

WOW!!!!! back from the dead...10 1/2 games out on August 25th...3 games out with just 5 games to play.....had to win on the final regular season day just to make the playoffs...an instant classic in game 5 of the NLDS to beat the phillies after being down 2 games to 1....took out the brewers but without many dramatics in 6 games....what looked so promising to close the world series out in 5 or 6 games then turned into disaster with a blown save and an ugly 4-2 loss...THEN CAME THE HEROICS....david freese bottom of the 9th down by 2 runs and 2 strikes on him & he hits a shot off the right field wall to score 2 & send it to extra innings....the season then looked over again for these cardiac cards after josh hamilton hit a 2 run bomb to make it 9-7 rangers...NOT SO FAST!!!....down to their final strike and lance berkman hits a bloop single to score daniel descalso and tie it at 9....after a scoreless inning for the rangers in the 11th the home town hero david freese stepped to the plate...full count no out, nobody on and he walks off to send it to a game 7....after being down 2-0 in the 1st inning these resiliant cards came back to tie it at 2-2 in the bottom half of the 1st on a david freese 2 run double....the st. louis cardinals never looked back, allen craig hit a solo homer to make it 3-2, then the cardinals scored 2 runs on 3 walks and 2 hit batters in an inning to make it 5-2....yadi then sealed it with a single that made it 6-2 and jason motte got the rangers 1-2-3 in the 9th.....a historic run and a season i will never forget

Cinderella in the WORLD SERIES

I attended a banquet on August 24th in st. louis with my family as we do every year, and  the team we love (St. Louis Cardinals) were 10 1/2 games out of the playoffs. as i was listening to john mozeliak talk, i thought he was the biggest idiot ever for some of the trades he made, and i think he knew everybody felt the same because he concluded by saying how sorry he was for the season. Waino (adam wainwright) who is arguably the cardinals best pitcher had season ending surgery before spring training promised that the cardinals wouldn't stop fighting. the cards ended the season in fairy tail fashion by making the playoffs by going 23-9 in the final month of the season. now the world series starts tomorrow, and guess who is in it? yes that's right those same cards that promised they wouldn't stop fighting. this is too good to be true, but it is and the cards also have home field advantage in the world series.....CARDINALS IN 6!!!!

GAME 3

yvonne gallardo vs chris carpenter starters for game 3 with the series tied 1-1. rain in the forecast, but hopefully it all passes this afternoon like it looks like its doing right now. should be a good game, but carp slams the door on the crew with a 3-1 cardinal win. DO IT FOR TORTY!!!!! hopefully the only rain in the forecast tonight is raining squirrels, for all of you who have no clue who torty is, he is allen craig's pet turtle and as for the squirrel thing there was a squirrel on the field briefly during game 3, 4 in the nlds vs the phillies and in game 4 the squirrel ran across home plate right after oswalt threw a pitch so the cards think they are good luck

one too many chances????

Here we go AGAIN. South Carolina qb Stephen Garcia has been dismissed from the team for testing positive for marijuana and alcohol. A 5th year senior who has been suspended from the team 5, yes FIVE other times for violations has finally done exactly what I expected would happen after "the old ball coach" aka Steve Spurier has given more than enough chances to Garcia. In all fairness he wasn't even that good, Garcia had 41 interceptions in just a little over 3 years if you go by games, and not age. The fact is Spurier gave Garcia too many chances, and he let him down AGAIN.

should be the real t-hush instead of t-plush

"Alberta couldn't see Plush if she had her gloves on!!! Wat was she thinking running afta Plush!!! She never been n tha ring!!!"   el hombre probably couldn't see you last night either because you were too busy chasing doubles/ home run all over the field. Nyjer Morgan is a joke end of discussion, glad we had this talk

College football rankings

while the coaches poll is pretty fair, the AP poll is just mind boggling right now. how does a team (auburn) go from just receiving votes to 15th in the country after beating a very mediocre south carolina team in the last minutes of the game. im not sure if they AP realizes the rankings dont take into consideration what teams did last year, some people should just have their votes taken away. it just seems like teams like texas, florida, southern cal, west virginia and auburn all get more credit for beating the little sisters of the poor, in auburn's case BARELY beating 2 little sisters of the poor....then when they have to play good schools they get exposed for what they really are (mediocre at best)....notre dame is a top 10 team easily with out the turnovers, 2 tough losses and they arent in the rankings...however a team like usc gets beat miserably and stays in the rankings?
